Loses his life

Devotional done by Ess-Jee from standforyourmarriage.org

Matthew 16:25:

"For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it."

I really never understood this scripture until a storm of brokenness strike my home and took and destroyed everything I loved and cherished. I felt empty and hopeless, it felt like my life was in ruins, no hope just despair. But in all this pain and brokenness, the Lord came to me and told me to give everything to Him, my broken heart, my broken life everything, I must give up my hopes and dreams for His, lose mine for His.

Psalms 147:3
He heals the broken hearted and binds up their wounds.

Isaiah 40:29-31
He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength…Those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.

Isaiah 54:14, 15
In righteousness you shall be established; you shall be far from oppression, for you shall not fear; and from terror, for it shall not come near you.  Indeed they shall surely assemble, but not because of Me.  Whoever assembles against you shall fall for your sake.

Isaiah 61:3
…To give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness…

Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank you that Jesus came to heal the broken hearted and bind their wounds.  I ask you to give me strength and hope, beauty for ashes, and joy for mourning.  Lord, I ask you to heal me from all past abuse and protect me from
future abuse.  Help me to forgive everyone who has hurt me in any way, in Jesus' name.

If you search the word "brokenness" in the dictionary you'll get many different definitions-"forcibly separated into two or more pieces; break apart or sever by divorce, separation, or desertion; having been violated; being in the state of disarray; disordered; weakened; crushed by grief; financially ruined; bankrupt; not functioning or out of order." Can you relate to this term in any way?

The enemy is like a roaring lion He looks around to see who he can destroy, because we sometimes so focus on our problems and what we want from our husbands or wife’s, we take our focus away from Jesus and on our circumstances. Most of the time we try to solve our problems our selves doing the same thing over and over but expecting a different result every time, they call this insanity.

We try to solve our problems physically where most of the times it can be only be solved spiritually. Remember what the Lord said in His Word, we may walk in the flesh but our spiritual weapons we use is in the spiritual are not the same as the ones we use here in the physical. Jesus took my hand in my darkest hour in my life , He took me from my knees and rose me up to my feet so that I can stand again, He gave me a new heart, He binds all my wounds , He cleaned me from the inside out , and took away all my frustration and fears. He told me what He is going to do and all I must do is to Stand and endure and follow His footsteps, He will do the rest.

Psalms 127:1
Unless the LORD builds the house, they labor in vain who build it; unless the LORD guards the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.

Isaiah 32:17-18
…And the effect of righteousness, quietness and assurance forever.  My people will dwell in a peaceful habitation, in secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places…

Deuteronomy 26:11
So you shall rejoice in every good thing which the LORD your God has given to you and your house…

Dear brother or sister I don’t know you personally but what I do know , is that if you have committed your life to Jesus, putting Him first not only in words but in your actions, He will change your life and make your crooked places straight, God honors His word and the things He promised you He will do.!

Jesus Christ came so that we can experience a life of peace and joy, I life full of happiness and abundance, all you have to do is to give up your life and will for His.
