Job 28:18

“Coral and crystal are not to be mentioned: And the acquisition of wisdom is above that of pearls."(New American Standard)

NOTE: In the beginning chapter 28 Job is describing the treasures found in the earth and how men seek them out…for example: iron is taken from the dust (:2); copper is smelted from rock (:2); rocks are a source for sapphires(:6); dust contains gold….BUT…where can wisdom be found? (:12)

It’s as though Job is saying…pearls are the most valuable, sought after gem….

Pearls are one of the hardest materials or gems in the world. To grow a pearl takes at least 10 years and then the peeling process to get rid of the hard outer layers of the pearl,   takes lot of skill and patience. Let’s take a look at this process of pearl peeling;

This procedure of Pearl peeling has been employed at least since medieval times, and is used to remove damaged layers of the pearl ….. Or when the outside of the pearl is ugly but shows a ‘inner promise’. Few people have the skill and patience required to perform this arcane art form, they use a simple steel surgical blade to reveal its true beauty. Using his hands and armed with patience and a steel blade he will be able to restore the true beauty of the pearl.

In many cases a stander can also be seen as this man peeling the ugly pearl. Many prodigals is in a state of hardness of heart and you  can see the outer layers.   What we miss is that inside of them is a person that only want to be Loved, a person that still  love  their spouse but got a veil over their eyes. Because they are deceived they cannot hear Gods truths they can only hear the enemies lies. Under all that hardness and deceitfulness is a beautiful gem, filled with all of Gods beauty and splendour. Let’s take that pearl peeling process and apply that to the spiritual. The Lord is the hands that will restore them to their righteous state; the blade is Gods word and your prayers, constant loving them out of a heart of compassion and unconditional love. Constant loving them like God loves us peel away all the outer layers of hardness and in time they will be complete, there inner beauty will come out.

I also fell into the trap from the enemy, that I will look at how my spouse would act or how se would look like and then I will get weary in my stand because we see no improvement, even when I have prayed and fasted for months. This is what the Lord told me. God hands out directions for a full satisfying life. Our role is to align ourselves with that plan. We are to keep our eyes on Jesus and His abilities, not on our spouse’s disabilities. More frequently we do that, the more completely we live by His perfect plan. Continuing to trust God is the key to victory in painful and seemingly unjust situations. Faith and prayer move the hand of the Lord, if we continue believing. He promises to continue moving on our behalf to work everything out for our good.

Love is a choice. The Lord has called you to brightly shine His love to your spouse. In the beginning of my stand a close friend and deliverer told me that God chose me for this special person in my life. To love her as Christ loves the church. So dear reader I dare you to look past your spouse’s present looks or actions, look at them as Christ look at them, seeing that inner beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit.

With time your constant loving them as Christ love you ,  will penetrate the deep dark corners of their heart, and they will be released of the bondages of sin they are in. Have faith in our God, He is the God of restoration and reconciliation. What He has promised you on your wedding day He will perform. God hates divorce and marriage separation. Its time we stand on Gods promises for us and proclaiming His truths about marriage and love. I don’t know about you but I’m trusting my God for my pearl, are you?
