Persistent like Hachiko

Devotional done by ess-jee from stand for your

Then Jesus told them a parable to show them they should always pray and not lose heart. He said,  “In a certain city there was a judge who neither feared God nor respected people. There was also a widow in  that city who kept coming to him and saying, ‘Give me justice against my adversary.’ For a while he refused , but  later on he said to himself, ‘Though I neither fear God nor have regard for people,  yet because this widow  keeps on bothering me, I will give her justice, or in the end she will wear me out by her unending pleas.’”  And the Lord said, “Listen to what the unrighteous judge says! Won’t God give justice to his chosen  ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he delay long to help them?  I tell you, he will give them justice speedily. Nevertheless, when the   comes, will he find faith on earth?”   Luke 18:1 – 8 Son of Man

Do you feel weary and tired, praying night and day for your breakthrough to come? It feels that the more you pray the more negative your circumstances are becoming. Maybe you’re interceding for someone and it seems that the more you pray the worse this person is getting.

Jesus told this above parable to His disciples; He wanted to assure them that they must keep going on, never giving in. It’s our Job to proclaim, and the Spirit will move on His given time. When we’re praying we must have the same attitude as this widow, praying without ceasing, being thankful and trusting Our Lord God for our breakthrough.

Impatience is short-sighted. God answers prayer in His time, in His way, for His purpose. Although we may not understand, perseverance may bring unexpected blessings.

I recently watched a movie of a dog named Hachiko, a story of ultimate perseverance, the kind we must strive to have in our daily lives. Hachiko got abandoned as a small puppy at a train station. A professor coming home from a long day at work via train, stumbled onto little Hachiko. The two immediately bonded. To make a long story short; everyday at 5 pm, Hachiko would wait for his master to return from work, greeting him everyday at the same place. But one day the professor had a heart attack while lecturing and never returned. Hachiko waited and waited, returning to the same spot every day without fail. 10 years passed, and still he waited for his master to return. He eventually died of old age waiting for his beloved master to return to him.

Do you have what it takes to wait patiently for Your Lord to move on His timing in your life or marriage?

And we can be confident that he will listen to us whenever we ask him for anything in line with his will. And if we know he is listening when we make our requests, we can be sure that he will give us what we ask for. 1 John 5:14-15

Do you believe that the Lord answers prayers? He does, but what you and I need are endurance and patience. Ask the  Holy Spirit to give you more faith daily. When hopelessness abounds always Hope in God, praying, worshiping and fasting. God is always faithful to His word. Stop listening to the enemy’s lies about your circumstances and start listening to God’s truths; to the  voice of truth. Try to put your focus on the Lord’s victory. Praise and worship daily. Seek your Lord in everything and He will give you the strength to STAND strong.

There’s lot to learn from the widow and Hachiko. Let’s start praying that we will do what needs to be done so that we can make a stand for our Lord Jesus and our families. Believe……
