Standing and Acting on Gods Truth

Devotional done by Ess-Jee from stand for your

2 Chronicles 20:17
You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the LORD will give you, O Judah and Jerusalem . Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the LORD will be with you.' "

Will you dare to be like Moses and do what must be done for you and your family? The road may seem long and hard, but at the end everything will be worth the wait.

Ok, we know what it is all about to stand for ones marriage.  In the beginning of your stand, you will stand strong, and know that you have receive hope for your situation. You will pray vigilantly every day and strive to be like Jesus. But as the time goes by and the years, you start to get weary and start to slack in everything. Why does it take so long?

I have listened to numerous testimonies of returning prodigals and read the testimonies of successful standers who completed there journey and also in my own experience this is what I found;

To really be successful in your stand you must have the right mind set. You will see that many standers, who started out standing and suddenly stops standing, usually didn’t have the right motive or they didn’t spend enough devotional time with the Lord and then there circumstances overwhelmed them.

One must not look at the calendar or the years that are passing by. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus and take one day at a time. Give the Lord enough time to heal you both, only He knows what time is needed for your spouse to return. So don’t make time your enemy, that’s why it’s so important that you live by faith and not by sight, if you do life by sight your stand will be short lived.

Many returning prodigals proclaimed that they where attracted by something of there ex – spouse. They didn’t really know what, but they could sense a change in there covenant spouse. You see the Lord usually uses you as a Jesus figure for your prodigal, showing them through your words and actions what Godly Love is really all about. Stormie Omatha said in one of her books that while one spouse prays for the other , the Lord usually start working in the spouse who’s praying.

Zip your lips, is maybe one of the most important actions one can do. Covering your prodigal’s nakedness must be High priority with you. Just share news or details with your prayer partners.

Listen and do is very important. You will see as your stand progress, the Lord will instruct you to do certain things on certain dates, timing is everything in your stand.

Living married is very important. One must act married in everything. Even if you’re divorced, you must still act married. The people must perceive you as a married man or women at all times. So all rules applies to you now as when your spouse was with you.

Only God know the date and time when your marriage will be restored. Jesus and a holy life is the key. Surround yourself with people who support your stand and get rid of those opposing you. In due time the Lord will use your restored marriage to lead them to Him. But for know get rid of bad company.

Try to spend daily devotional time with God, praise and worship when you feel weary. Remember the battle is not yours but Gods, so if you feel weak,  ask the Lord for help. He is always near you.

In the beginning of your stand you will be so focused on your returning love, that you will have them on your mind all the time. But as you grow in the Lord you will start to put your focus on God and His calling on your life. Then suddenly one day your spouse returns unsuspected, you will be surprised because your focus was not on your problems but on the solution.

Get yourself filled up with positive stuff and be filled up with the word of God. Your restoration will come to pass, make a decision today that no matter what or how long it takes, you will run this race for God and your spouse until the end. Amen

Matthew 10:22  All men will hate you because of me, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved
