Today I choose to Follow You

Devotional done by Ess-Jee from stand for your marriage

As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. "Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men." At once they left their nets and followed him. - Matthew 4:18-20 (NIV)

Will you choose to follow Jesus today and everyday from now on? To confess with our lips is easy, but to really follow Him costs a price. I challenge you this week to take your eyes off all your impossible circumstances and to put them on Jesus. He loves you so, so much and wants only what is best for both you and your spouse. Do you believe that Jesus will and can resurrect any dead marriage?

Your Lord and Saviour did it with death. His grave is empty and He is exalted above everything. Why can’t He then resurrect your marriage? Nothing is impossible for Him. He loves you and your spouse so much. He is restoration and reconciliation. God sent His only son to die for us so that we could be reconciled with Him through His son.

Jesus is the only way. If you choose to lay down everything

and follow Him, He will touch your broken heart in ways you’ve never thought possible. He did this to me and He wants the same for you.

If you choose to follow Him and give your “yes” to Him today pray this prayer with me.

Oh Jesus we come into Your presence today in boldness and thank you for what You are already doing on my behalf. Lord my friends and family may say that my marriage is dead and hopeless, but Lord I choose to listen to you and choose to permanently take my eyes off all my circumstances and put it on you. Lord I choose to believe that nothing is impossible for you, I choose to say thank you Lord for my new resurrected marriage. I choose to say thank you for your love for me and my beloved. Lord I choose to proclaim that God does heal hurting marriages. Lord I pray that you will use my brokenness to show others how wonderful You are and how you can take any broken relationship and turn it around for your Glory.

In Jesus name I pray
