Noah’s Ark

Devotional done by Ess-Jee from standforyourmarriage.org

Noah's Ark is the vessel which, according to the Book of Genesis, was built by Noah at God's command to save himself, his family and the world's animals from a worldwide deluge.

Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.
And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits.
A window shalt thou make to the ark, and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above; and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof; with lower, second, and third stories shalt thou make it.
-- Genesis 6: 13-16 (KJV)

Have the Lord ever asked you to build an Ark? I’m not talking about a massive boat like the one in the picture, I’m talking about a Faith Ark. Faith Ark’s  are endangered, not many people have the patience or the Faith to start building one. Many start well, but most who started building got weary and gave up.

Our Lord Jesus are looking for men or women who would listen to Him and do as He instructed, obeying His command and not obeying our own will and selfish desires.

The Lord called me to start building a faith Ark for my family, and it started with my marriage. Building an arch takes patience and perseverance, like any architect can tell you are that you must carefully look at the building plans of the ark otherwise your going to mess everything up if you don’t follow the architect’s instructions.

Our instruction booklet is the Bible and Jesus is the architect, all we have to do is to listen, and do what He wants us to do, faith ultimately comes from Him. When Noah got the instructions from God to start building an ark for the salvation of His family, He thought that it was impossible and why, it never rained before so what is the odds that it will rain now.

God’s voice instructs Noah to build an ark. “Who is this really?” Noah responds.

“This is God.”“Yeah right, am I on candid camera?”A bit annoyed, God gets to the business at hand, but Noah replies, If you want this ark, why don’t you build it yourself.”“Noah,” God’s voice thunders, “you know I don’t work that way.”

God’s ways are far beyond our understanding of causality. God’s purposes do not always open themselves to human analysis. If God is sovereign, God can create the world in whatever way he chooses. As creatures and not the creator, we must not be so arrogant to assume that we know what God thought and what God did.

The Lord worked with Noah and in time Noahs heart got softer and he humbled him before God, He took Gods instruction to him at heart and He started building the ark. Offcourse many of his friends and families thought that he was loosing his mind, building a huge boat in the middle of the dessert, they made fun off him, calling him names and sometimes throwing stuff at him. But Noah kept His cool, He had his eyes focused on God and He knew that if God promises something He will make it come to pass. Noah clinked on this promise; that the Lord will safe Him and His family from this world of sin, but he must first look for Gods kingdom and His righteousness. Years went by and suddenly before their own eyes the ark was complete.

A cubit is the distance between an adult's elbow and tip of the finger, generally 18-inches. Most Hebrew scholars believe the cubit to have been between 17½ -21½ inches long. This means that the ark would have been 450 feet long, 75 feet wide and 45 feet high if the 18 inch cubit was used. If a larger cubit was used it would have been proportionately longer.

So this was one mean mother of a boat, and the Lord helped them every step of the way. If the Lord called you to build an ark for your family or loved one will you do what the Lord instructed you, will you obey His command to you, or will you choose to follow the majority of people looking for happiness our way. The Lord has always a plan, so if He instructed you to do something do it, He can see your victory already in the spiritual. All we have to do is to believe in God and His mighty word; He will never go against His own word.

Genesis 9:8?10, 12?13, 16?17

Then God said to Noah and to his sons with him: "I now establish my covenant with you and with your descendants after you and with every living creature that was with you??the birds, the livestock and all the wild animals, all those that came out of the ark with you??every living creature on earth  And God said, "This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth.... Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth." So God said to Noah, "This is the sign of the covenant I have established between me and all life on the earth."

If you got married and your experiencing some difficulty remember God made a covenant with you and your spouse and if you do what He want you to do He will bring healing and restoration to you and your family.

So in other words STAND till your breakthrough comes.

Godbless
