Devotional done by Stacey our partner

God provides to each one of us daily in more ways than we think about or give Him credit for. We simply do not think about all the ways in which our needs are met, or just Who it is that meets them.

       What does the words "provider" & "provision" mean? Well, according Webster, this is what his dictionary says;

PROVIDE -- To supply what is needed, such as for a family.

PROVISION -- A stock of needed supplies, such as food.

PROVIDER -- The ONE Who provides.

Lately, this has really been any eye opener for me. For all of those days when nothing seemed to be moving, or happening, God was. He was busy working on where many of us would be spending the night. He was working on where we were going to eat, who was going to either give it to us, or pay for it. He was busy putting things in order for us.

What makes me so sure of that? Because He cannot go against His own words, and the things He has promised to do for us. The Bible is full of places where the Lord has provided for the needs of HIS people. Here are a few of them.

GENESIS 22:8 -- Abraham said, My son, God Himself will provide a lamb for the burnt offering. So the two went on together.

GENESIS 22:14 -- So Abraham called the name of that place The Lord Will Provide.

PSALM 65:9-10 -- You visit the earth and saturate it with water; You greatly enrich  it; the river of God is full of water; You provide them with grain when You have so prepared the earth. You water the fields furrows abundantly, You settle the ridges of it; You make the soil soft with showers, blessing the sprouting of its vegetation.

PSALM 84:11-12 -- For the Lord God is a Sun and Shield; the Lord bestows present grace and favor and future glory, honor, splendor, and heavenly bliss! No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly. O Lord of hosts, blessed, happy, fortunate, to be envied is the man who trusts in You, committing all and confidently looking to You, and that without fear or misgiving!

PSALM 145:14-16 -- The Lord upholds all those of His own who are falling and raises up all those who are bowed down. The eyes of all wait for You looking, watching, and expecting and You give them their food in due season. You open Your hand and satisfy every living thing with favor.

ISAIAH 45:2-3 -- I will go before you and level the mountains to make the crooked places straight; I will break into pieces the doors of bronze and cut asunder the bars of iron. And I will give you the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places, that you may know that it is I, the Lord, the God of Israel, Who calls you by your name.

JEREMIAH 33:9 -- And Jerusalem shall be to Me a name of joy, a praise and a glory before all the nations of the earth that hear of all the good I do for it and they shall fear and tremble because of all the good and all the peace, prosperity, security, and stability I provide for it.

PHILLIPPIANS 4:19 -- And my God will liberally supply, fill to the full, your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

REVELATION 7:15-17 -- For this reason they are now before the very throne of God and serve Him day and night in His sanctuary, temple: and He Who is sitting upon the throne will protect and spread His tabernacle oveer and shelter them with His presence. They shall hunger no more, neither thurst any more; neither shall the sun smite them, nor any scorching heat. For the Lamb Who is in the midst of the throne will be their Shepherd, and He will guide them to the springs of the waters of life, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.

   (scripture from the Amplified Bible).

Those are just a few of the many scriptures that deal with the Provision that God gives to us each and every day. I strongly encourage you to study this further. Get into the Word of God, look up each and every scripture that has to do with any kind of provision. You can find them from Genesis to Revelation.

The book of Exodus tells the story of when the Israelites were in the desert, on the way to the Promised Land. There you can find where God Himself gave them shelter from the heat during the day, and fire at night to see. He gave them Manna...straight down from heaven. It fell at night when they were sleeping. He provided enough food for each day, with the exception of the Sabbath. Only on the 6th day did they receive enough for 2 days.

Looking further through the Word, you find where the Lord provided shelter for King david, food for his army of men, protection when he needed it, defended him when he needed it.

The Lord provided for Daniel when he refused to eat the kings meat. God gave Daniel and his men favor with the one that was to feed them. He provided protection when Daniel was thrown in with the lions.

The Lord provided for Elijah food delivered by the ravens, and water in the brook. He provided for the widow woman that the Lord commanded to take care of Elijah. Her meal and oil never ran out.

Keep going through each book of the Bible, there are so many places where God provided for His people, and they always had what they needed.

The greatest and most painful provision God the Father ever gave to us was Jesus. Knowing that once He was born on this earth, He would hang on a cross. He would be suspended in the air, between heaven and hell. He was hanging there as the Provision of life. Because of that cross, the Blood on the ground, the last breath He took, the three days He spent in the grave, going into the pits of the earth, and taking back the keys to His Kingdom, the keys to death, hell and the grave. Because the Provision woke up, got up, got dressed, and walked out of that tomb, you and I have the ability to walk out of any grave that the enemy tries to bury us in. Whether it is the grave of no job, no home, no money, no food, no friends, no family, no car, your prodigal husband, wife, or child. The need has already been met. The Provision  (Jesus)has been sent, by the Provider, whose name is Jehovah Jireh, God the Father. In the name of Jesus, Praise Him, love Him, worship Him, and above all thank Him for each and everything that you have ever needed, it was met, what you have need of now, it is here, and what you will have need of later, it is already done.

I challenge each one of you, myself included to look back over the last few months or years of your life and ask yourself these questions. How many times did the invisible hand of God move to provide you with something that you needed? How did He get what you needed to you?  Who did He use to help you?  If you will do this, I can just about promise you, that once you go to writing this down, your heart will break.

"remember when this happend? It was Me, that unexpected check in your mailbox, It was Me. Those bags of food on your doorstep, that nobody knew how they got there, that no one saw who left them, It was Me. When the boss tried to fire you from your job, and couldnt. It was Me. When you got the news about what your husband or wife was doing, It was Me. It was Me, Your Provider telling you, showing you, answering your desperate cries and prayers. It was Me telling you to just stand still.

I have already been where you are about to go. I already know the prayers you are going to pray. I already have the bottles ready for the tears you have not yet cried. I already know how, when, where, the day and time that your hearts desire will be given to you. It is done, it is finished, they are coming. Your families-coming. Your children - coming, Your husband -coming, Your wife -coming.  Your friends - coming.  Even Your enemies - coming.

I, the Lord your God have spoken this to you. My word and My promises do not fail. Stand still, Stand tall, Stand on My Word, Stand on your knees.   JUST STAND."
