Let see what different dictionaries say about the meaning of the word Hero.

In mythology and legend, a man, often of divine ancestry, who is endowed with great courage and strength, celebrated for his bold exploits, and favored by the gods. A person noted for feats of courage or nobility of purpose, especially one who has risked or sacrificed his or her life: soldiers and nurses who were heroes in an unpopular war. A person noted for special achievement in a particular field: the heroes of medicine.

Do you know of a hero near you? Who can we lookup to as heroes nowadays? Well lets see ; Movie stars fail us because they act one way in the movies and act differently in real life, Sport stars fail us because usually there personal life are there down fall, church leaders failed us because what they say and what they do is two totally different things. Were has all the real Heroes gone?

Well I know of Hero of Heroes, A Hero that was send to earth to save the earth , a Hero who laid down His life for all humankind , baring the sin of the world on His shoulders. A man who lived a selfless obedient life and died a horrific death, so that others might live and will receive freedom out of His sacrifice.

John3:17

For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

Luke 19:10

"For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost."

John 12 : 47

"If anyone hears My sayings and does not keep them, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world.

1 John 4:14

We have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son to be the Savior of the world

No I’m not talking about super man I’m talking about Jesus Christ. Jesus became a Hero for every tribe and nation and language, no matter were you are or were you come from, God loved you so much that He send His only son to die for you on the Cross. He came to earth with one mission, to set the captives free, to destroy sin, to take back the power from Satan, he took from Adam and eve, and to conquer death. He did all this for me and you. God said in His scriptures that He was pleased that His only son will die for us.

Colossians 1-15:20

1:15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation,1:16 for all things in heaven and on earth were created by him – all things, whether visible or invisible, whether thrones or dominions, whether principalities or powers – all things were created through him and for him.1:17 He himself is before all things and all things are held together in him.1:18 He is the head of the body, the church, as well as the beginning, the firstborn from among the dead, so that he himself may become first in all things.1:19 For God was pleased

to have all his fullness dwell in the Son1:20 and through him to reconcile all things to

himself by making peace through the blood of his cross – through him, whether things on earth or things in heaven.

So you will wonder were do I fit into this, well the Lord was a Hero for us so that we could be a Hero for others.

John 20:21

So Jesus said to them again, "Peace be with you; as the Father has sent Me, I also send you."

Guys lets go out and be a Hero for people out there, there are so many people hurting and who are alone, who would love to see a Hero come and comfort them, it doesn’t take much to be a Hero, put yourself and your desires second to others in need , if you start doing that you will experience the Lords grace like never before. The other Heroes I wont to cover in my devotional is a different kind of Hero, these heroes are very scares but I know that there could be one living in your town or maybe in your neighborhood.

The Heroes I’m talking about is the men or women who are standing for the healing and restoration of there marriages, facing all kinds of temptations every day, facing hurts and rejection, facing loneliness and depression, facing all kinds of battles. These men and women are our generation of unsung Heroes. Standing in the Gap for there prodigals, sacrificing there life’s, personal time, hopes and dreams for the one they truly love. I honor each and every Stander in the world, it might seem easy from the outside but I know it is one of the most difficult things we will ever have to do. Dear stander if your reading this, be strong and know that the Lord will reward you and Your family for Your efforts, know that there are not many Heroes left in our generation and the Lord chose you to be a Faith Hero for your friends and family. With our Lord Jesus in our hearts and Him leading the way for us, just know that He will complete the work He started with you.

Philippians 1:6

being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
