Step 3

 Deliverance

 Psalm 3:8

  "From the Lord comes deliverance."

Colossians 1:13

For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves

Now you got the fullness of Gods Holy Spirit living in you, He will lead you into His truths and guide you were you need to go. In our third step we are going to explore in the process of sanctification; which is, deliverance.

What is "deliverance?" People often use the term "deliverance" as if it were synonymous with "the casting out of demons." Indeed, deliverance may entail casting out demons, but the term, as used in Scripture, has a much broader meaning and deeper significance.

In the Bible, "deliverance" conveys an overall picture of salvation through the hand of a loving and powerful God. It describes the full impact of Jesus' death and resurrection being applied to God's people. And it signifies the fullness of freedom in Christ.

The first meaning of "deliverance" is "to deliver out of the hands of..., to escape." This meaning illustrates God's rescue of His people from the dominion of Satan and the world system. The same sense is poetically conveyed in Psalm 124:7 (NASV) by a word meaning "to slip away, to escape, deliver from danger."

The second meaning of "deliverance" is whereby because of all the past hurts or rejections that have formed rocks in ones heart, only a few  of His messages come through. Deliverance is a way of clearing all the rocks out of ones heart.

You yourselves have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles' wings, and brought you to Myself (Exodus 19:4 NASV).

The aspect of deliverance requires the believer to be equipped by God with spiritual weapons of warfare. God will supply the power to defeat the enemy once the believer faces the enemy in faith. David gave us an example of God's faithfulness to the one who will face the enemy:

Then David said to the Philistine [the giant, Goliath], "You come to me with a sword, a spear, and a javelin, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have taunted. This day the Lord will deliver you up (Sagar Strong's : to shut up, fig. to surrender; to deliver into anyone's power) into my hands, and I will strike you down and remove your head from you..." (I Sam 17:45-46 NASV).

The third meaning of deliverance is "to have ample space between oneself and one's enemies." It is the end result and goal of the process of deliverance, where one's enemies have been beaten back and brought into subjection, so that they do not press in to harass, distress, and endanger a person or his land.

And Thou hast not given me over into the hand of the enemy; Thou hast set my feet in a large place (Psalms 31:8 NASV).

From my distress I called upon the Lord; the Lord answered me and set me in a large place (Psalm 118:5 NASV).

So your question now is, how do I go through the process of deliverance? Firstly, you can seek a deliverer who can assist you through this process or you can start by praying this deliverance prayer from a humble and obedient heart.

Please pray this prayer out loud; Jesus defeated the enemy by praying out loud’ so you will do exactly the same.

Jesus, I come to you as my deliverer. I believe that You are the Son of God, that You died for me and rose again. I confess You as Lord and renounce all influences of Satan in my life. Lord, you know the demons that oppress me, that harass me, that entice me, that enslave me. I confess all my sins to you. (You must name them out loud before God). I repent of (turn away from) all my sins. I renounce any form of the occult or idolatry in my life or in the life of my ancestors (Name them to the extent of your knowledge of it). I forgive anyone who has ever hurt me in any way and I let go of any bitterness or resentment. (Name any such people whom you associate with personal pain and forgive them by name). I believe I am saved by the blood of Jesus and Satan has no further legal rights to my spirit, soul, mind or body. Through the blood of Jesus I am justified, just as if I never sinned. Through the blood of Jesus I am sanctified, set apart to God. Through the blood of Jesus, I am redeemed out of the hand of the devil.

Jesus you said whoever calls upon the name of the Lord SHALL be delivered. I call upon you. Deliver me!

Now in the name of Jesus Christ I bind every evil spirit in or around my life. In the name of Jesus I command you to get out and leave me alone. Go in Jesus’ name!

(Now co-operate with the Holy Spirit. It may help to breathe out. After expelling breath a few times, the enemy will begin to manifest and he will be forced to leave. Use your will to force him out in Jesus’ name. Then praise God for the results and get filled with the Holy Spirit).
