Vampire bite

Devotional done by Ess-Jee from

What is a vampire?

In popular legend, a bloodsucking creature that rises from its burial place at night, sometimes in the form of a bat, to drink the blood of humans. By daybreak it must return to its grave or to a coffin filled with its native earth. Tales of vampires are part of the world's folklore, most notably in Hungary and the Balkan Peninsula . The disinterment in Serbia in 1725 and 1732 of several fluid-filled corpses that villagers claimed were behind a plague of vampirism led to widespread interest and imaginative treatment of vampirism throughout western Europe. Vampires are supposedly dead humans (originally suicides, heretics, or criminals) who maintain a kind of life by biting the necks of living humans and sucking their blood; their victims also become vampires after death. These "undead" creatures cast no shadow and are not reflected in mirrors. They can be warded off by crucifixes or wreaths of garlic and can be killed by exposure to the sun or by an oak stake driven through the heart. The most famous vampire is Count Dracula from Bram Stoker's novel Dracula (1897).

The predatory aristocrat whose blood-lust leads him to drain the blood of peasants, usually young women. Lets see if the bible say anything about vampires;

Leviticus 17:10-14

“If any one of the house of Israel or of the strangers who sojourn among them eats any blood, I will set my face against that person who eats blood and will cut him off from among his people. For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it for you on the altar to make atonement for your souls, for it is the blood that makes atonement by the life. Therefore I have said to the people of Israel , No person among you shall eat blood, neither shall any stranger who sojourns among you eat blood. “Any one also of the people of Israel , or of the strangers who sojourn among them, who takes in hunting any beast or bird that may be eaten shall pour out its blood and cover it with earth. For the life of every creature is its blood: its blood is its life. Therefore I have said to the people of Israel , You shall not eat the blood of any creature, for the life of every creature is its blood. Whoever eats it shall be cut off.

Proverbs 30:14

There are those whose teeth are swords, whose fangs are knives, to devour the poor from off the earth, the needy from among mankind.

Revelation 16:6

For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and you have given them blood to drink. It is what they deserve!”

Acts 15:20

But should write to them to abstain from the things polluted by idols, and from sexual immorality, and from what has been strangled, and from blood.

There can still be real life vampires walking among us but I’m more focusing on the Spiritual Vampires we get that is more common, although we won’t be even aware of it. Like we read in the beginning of this devotional, when a vampire bites you and you don’t take care of the wound or drain out all the poison of the vampire, it will look like the wound is healing, but the poison is spreading, slowly but surely. In time this poison will corrupt your heart and body and after a while you yourself will turn into the evil that bit you.

Lets get little bit more practical, lets say a young boy gets molested when he was 4, the man or women who molested him was used by the enemy to plant this poison in this boy, Years go by and as the boy gets older he place this happening far in his memory, he thinks by compressing this event far in his soul it will go away. But what this boy don’t realise is that this little rock is growing day by day year by year, its spreading to every part of his body and soul. Suddenly this boy develops commitment issues, he develops a hatred for men or in some cases like men more than women, in sever cases he can turn out to be a rapist or murderer, Why? Well because he never brought this poison that entered him at a young age to Jesus, he harboured unforgiveness, pain, and rejection his whole life, this poison spread and because he never cured it he became a vampire himself, spreading the poison to other victims.

John 6:53-21:25

So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him. As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so whoever feeds on me, he also will live because of me. ...

Jesus is the cure for any hurt you may have because of what someone else might have done to you. Don’t fall in satans trap, don’t let your heart get harden because of past events or hurts. Give it to Jesus, He will bind up your wounds and He will give you a new heart. Lets stop the Vampire effect, and let Gods love abide and flow in our hearts, so that it can flow to others and cure them of there poison.
